Payments Counsel – Regulatory & Product - Remote

Overview

As Payments Counsel, you’ll be at the intersection of law, technology, and financial access, helping build compliant products that scale globally while solving complex regulatory challenges in fintech.

In Short

• Advise on U.S. and international payments regulations.
• Partner with Compliance and Licensing teams on MTL applications.
• Draft card holder agreements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Negotiate commercial agreements with banks and vendors.
• Provide guidance on consumer protection requirements.
• Manage relationships with outside counsel.
• Assist with responses to regulators and audits.
• Stay ahead of regulatory changes affecting payments and fintech.

Requirements

• JD from a top-level law program.
• 3–6 years of legal experience in payments or fintech.
• Strong understanding of payments regulations.
• Experience advising on commercial contracts and regulatory issues.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset, comfortable working across teams.
• Digital assets regulatory experience is a plus.
• Bonus: Prior in-house experience at a fintech or payments company.
