Overview

As an Oracle Database Consultant at Pythian, you will be part of a team providing comprehensive support for managed database and application infrastructure operations, assisting various clients in optimizing their database performance and operations.

In Short

• Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases.
• Administer Oracle databases including RAC, RMAN, Data Guard, and more.
• Design and implement backup/recovery strategies.
• Develop monitoring methods and scripts.
• Work with external customers and manage projects.
• Coordinate and administer IT solutions.
• Present technical courses to customers.
• Participate in on-call coverage.
• Collaborate with remote team members.
• Work flexible hours covering PST timezone.

Requirements

• 5+ years as an Oracle Database Administrator.
• Technical skills in RAC, Exadata, Goldengate, and more.
• Understanding of IT service standards like ITIL.
• Degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience with customer service and communication.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
