• Provide medical expertise and guidance to underwriting staff.
• Perform statistical analysis of mortality.
• Conduct case analysis and referrals.
• Train and develop underwriting staff.

• Stay updated on advances in medicine.
• Establish relationships with medical directors at reinsurance partners.
• Assist with medical underwriting research and projects.

Requirements

• Experience in the Broker General Agent marketplace preferred.
• Complex substandard experience required.
• Expertise in individual life insurance underwriting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for underwriter education and training.
• Experience in a paperless environment preferred.
• 3+ years of strong life Medical Director experience.
• Current medical license required if a Medical Doctor.
• Board Certified in Insurance Medicine or willing to obtain certification.
• Board Certified in a medical specialty.
