Overview

The Patient Intake Coordinator is responsible for managing new referrals and ensuring the completion of insurance reviews and certifications for patient admissions.

In Short

  • Monitor hospital and email systems for new referrals.
  • Initiate electronic medical records for new intakes and referrals.
  • Complete insurance reviews and certifications.
  • Arrange durable medical equipment and systems for admission.
  • Coordinate visits for hospice admission.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Experience with Workers Comp is essential.
  • Must obtain prior authorizations for medical equipment.
  • Experience with Medicare Insurance Verification is necessary.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong affinity for customer service.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Relevant experience with Patient Intake and Referrals.
  • Significant experience with Workers Comp is required.
  • Experience obtaining prior authorizations for durable medical equipment is required.
  • Experience with Medicare Insurance Verification is required.
  • Government Insurance collections experience is a plus.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
