Staff Engineer - Remote

Overview

Platform9 is looking for a Staff Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be a technical authority for one or more core components, driving architecture, design, and delivery of complex initiatives end-to-end.

• Serve as the domain expert for your component.
• Lead design and architecture for major features.
• Own and maintain public-facing documentation.
• Evaluate and recommend technology choices.
• Define technical architecture for initiatives.
• Lead projects with significant technical complexity.
• Take end-to-end ownership of your component.
• Engage with vendors and partners on integrations.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Help define and uphold the engineering hiring bar.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects.
• Deep expertise in at least one major technical domain.
• Expert-level programming in Python, Go, Java, or C++.
• Strong system design and distributed systems capabilities.
• Experience operating and debugging large-scale infrastructure.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex production issues.
• Deep expertise in virtualization, containers, or cloud platforms.
