Desktop Technician - Remote

Overview

Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Specialist with excellent technical skills to work full-time in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters. The primary goal of the Desktop Technician is to ensure secure, maximum availability of technology resources for PPLA staff across the organization.

In Short

• Provide hands-on end user device support, including desktop, laptop, mobile and desk phone hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Serve as an additional point of contact for the help desk, handling technical requests and providing remote support.
• Diagnose, maintain, upgrade, repair, and configure desktop systems.
• Monitor, log, and track assigned IT support tickets.
• Assist with software deployments and patching of desktop systems.
• Provide on-site technical support throughout the organization.
• Contribute to the maintenance of IT asset inventory.
• Assist with A/V setup and support for Agency events.
• Participate in user training sessions on common desktop applications.
• Support system security measures on desktop systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate college degree in IT-related field or relevant certifications preferred.
• ITIL experience or certifications highly preferred.
• At least 5 years’ experience as a Desktop Technician or in a similar IT support role.
• At least 1-year hands-on experience with desktop management and remote support tools.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience of Windows operating systems.
• Ability to meet Los Angeles County background check requirements.
• Reliable means of transportation for onsite and off-site work.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
