Senior Accountant - eCommerce & Inventory Control - Remote

Overview

PlanITROI is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Accountant with a strong background in both traditional accounting and eCommerce operations. This role requires a proactive self-starter who can own day-to-day accounting functions while also managing the complexity of online sales transactions, inventory control, and financial reconciliation across multiple platforms.

In Short

• Own the full month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Prepare and analyze financial results, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal control standards are upheld.
• Manage EOY Financial and Bank Audit requests.
• Manage all general ledger activity for all eCommerce transactions.
• Reconcile eCommerce platform data with payment processors and accounting systems.
• Track and report Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and maintain accurate inventory valuation.
• Coordinate with the sales team to manage collections and maintain up-to-date AR balances.
• Support year-end audits and prepare audit schedules as needed.
• Detail-oriented with excellent time management and communication skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA preferred but not required).
• 5/7+ years of experience in senior accounting roles, with at least 3 years focused on eCommerce and inventory accounting.
• Deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, and Excel.
• Experienced with eCommerce tools like Amazon Seller Central, eBay, Groupon, Walmart, etc.
• Must have experience in processing AP/AR.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across departments.
