Overview

The Director of Entertainment & Community Programming leads the program planning and contract implementation of entertainment and community concerts presented by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

In Short

• Lead entertainment and community concert programming for PSO.
• Generate income and engage audiences with non-classical music.
• Manage contracts and business aspects of programming.
• Collaborate with various departments for successful program execution.
• Engage with artist managers and select successful programs/artists.
• Draft and negotiate guest artist contracts.
• Build community programs with local artists.
• Manage E&C programming budgets.
• Contribute to digital and media initiatives.
• Ensure excellent artist care and audience experiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Music or equivalent; Master’s preferred.
• At least seven years of experience in arts management.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with strong project prioritization abilities.
• Capacity to work under pressure as a team player.
• Discretion with sensitive artist information.
