Staff Software Engineer - PinCompute Shared Platform - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the PinCompute Shared Platform team. The team is responsible for PinCompute, which is Pinterest’s next-generation Kubernetes backed compute platform. This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead the platform control plane development and significantly impact Pinterest's overall infrastructure scalability and efficiency.

• Design, implement, and maintain mission-critical software.

• 10+ years of experience in large-scale compute platforms.
• Experience in Infrastructure and Containers, especially Kubernetes.
• Understanding of Kubernetes components internals.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in developing, managing and scaling large-scale compute platforms or distributed systems, preferably in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS).
• Experience in Infrastructure and Containers covering Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Understanding of Kubernetes components internals such as Kubelet, Kube Proxy, API Machinery, and Controllers.
• Demonstrated ability to drive complicated technical projects and make long-term strategic decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience.
