Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

Pie Insurance’s Technology team builds and operates a suite of applications and services that allow direct consumers, partners, and agents to manage commercial insurance policies. The team collaborates closely with our business partners to design and implement new features to help the company scale with increasing demand.

In Short

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code primarily in Typescript (with some C# preferred).
• Participate in peer code reviews to ensure high-quality code.
• Collaborate transparently with product management, designers, stakeholders, and fellow engineers.
• Shape the design and architecture of scalable, secure systems.
• Deliver software using continuous delivery pipelines.
• Assist support teams by triaging and resolving production issues.
• Build highly modular and reusable code while adhering to best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations to improve operational stability.
• Continuously learn and stay up-to-date on software engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience with proficiency in TypeScript and/or JavaScript (C# is a plus).
• Understanding of cloud services, particularly AWS.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum.
• Ability to deliver high-quality results under pressure.
• An agile mindset focused on delivering incremental improvements.
• Proficiency in crafting technical solutions with ambiguous requirements.
• Understanding of CI/CD best practices.
• Familiarity with microservices and service-oriented architecture.
