Staff Accountant - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team at Passport, a company empowering brands to reach their global potential through international shipping solutions.

In Short

• Perform general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and support asset lifecycle tracking.
• Support preparation of internal financial statements and external audit documentation.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams for accurate transaction classification.
• Assist with 1099 filings and participate in process improvements.
• Provide support for ad hoc reporting and financial analysis.
• Work in a dynamic, remote-first environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting under US GAAP.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Bill.com, and Ramp.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Effective communication across departments and time zones.
• Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in logistics/shipping/transportation is a plus.
