Overview

We are seeking a Criminal Defense Paralegal to join our US-based law firm client. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in various stages of criminal defense cases.

In Short

• Assist attorneys in preparing for trials and hearings.
• Draft legal documents and pleadings relevant to cases.
• Review and summarize police reports and evidence.
• Manage the office's case management system.
• Communicate with clients and witnesses for information.
• Assist in trial preparation and organization of materials.
• Conduct legal research for case strategy.
• Assist with case management and billing.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or comparable experience in a legal environment.
• 2-3 years' experience as a paralegal in criminal defense.
• In-depth knowledge of criminal law.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research applications.
• Strong organizational capabilities and attention to detail.
• Proficient in English.
• Familiarity with US criminal law.
• At least one year of experience in a law office.
• Effective writing skills.
• Experience with CLIO Manage software is advantageous.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
