Overview

The Software Development Intern (with proficiency in React and Python) contributes to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by completing essential tasks in the Technology department at ONC.

In Short

• Build and maintain a website from scratch.
• Connect and maintain a database to the website.
• Implement new features based on design and functional requirements.
• Document the code base and overall product structure.
• Write scalable applications.
• Create user and system documentation.
• Communicate effectively with team leads and management.
• Work remotely using Zoom and Slack.

• Unpaid internship requiring commitment through Fall and Spring semesters.

Requirements

• Current student in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with React and Python (Django).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of OOP principles.
• Ability to learn and work collaboratively.
• Attention to detail and effective communication skills.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace preferred.
• Authorized to intern in the U.S.
