Overview

The Moderate Writer Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by completing essential tasks in the Core Content Department, focusing on writing political content.

In Short

• Write high-quality OpEds and Policy Proposals.
• Participate in a collaborative writing environment.
• Engage in podcasts and events.
• Ensure nonpartisanship and ideological diversity in content.
• Work remotely via Zoom and Slack.
• Meet weekly with the Core Content team.
• Must submit a writing sample with application.
• Internship runs through at least December 20th, 2025.
• Flexible schedule with potential for extension.
• Not a paid position; offers college credit.

Requirements

• Degree in Political Science, Journalism, or related field preferred.
• Exceptional writing skills required.
• Proficient verbal communication skills a plus.
• Experience in policy research or political commentary preferred.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Google Workspace experience preferred.
• Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
• Willingness to engage in civil debate.
• Responsive and effective communicator.
• Ability to attend mandatory meetings.
