Mitigation Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Mitigation Specialist will conduct detailed investigations and biopsychosocial assessments to assist defense counsel in criminal matters, advocating for alternatives to incarceration.

• Conduct psychosocial assessments of clients.
• Develop client-specific service plans.
• Advocate before the Court and other entities.
• Interact with the defense bar and criminal legal community.
• Orient clients to the program and provide ongoing support.
• Implement referrals to treatment providers.
• Document client progress and maintain confidentiality.
• Attend court appearances and collaborate with co-workers.
• Maintain rapport with clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or similar field.
• Two years of experience in a criminal justice environment.
• Experience writing court reports.
• Experience with clients with mental illness and disabilities.
• Familiarity with Court entities.
• Ability to manage a caseload effectively.
