Android Engineer - Remote

Overview

onX is seeking an Android Engineer with a passion for trout fishing and technology. Your focus will be on the complete user journey throughout the TroutRoutes app including onboarding, purchasing, and map interaction. This role will serve as the TroutRoutes Android Engineer at onX and will report to the TroutRoutes Engineering Manager.

In Short

• Develop new user-facing features in our Android app using Java and Kotlin
• Maintain 3rd party library integrations
• Write quality code, tests and review pull requests
• Participate in architecture and code standard discussions
• Create ideas and solutions for team’s quarterly mission
• Collaborate effectively with team members
• Lead by example and embody company values
• Learn to use data analysis for new experiments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of five years of professional software development experience
• Experience in Android development in Java and Kotlin for at least two years
• Understanding of best practices and architectural patterns such as MVVM
• Strong computer science foundation
• Advocate for customer experience
• Ability to mentor junior engineers
• Permanent US work authorization
