Overview

The Academic Medical Dosimetrist (AMD) reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

In Short

• Provides optimum, accurate, and meaningful treatment plans for radiation oncology patients.
• Coordinates with Radiation Oncologist, Medical Physicist, Nursing, and Therapists.
• Participates in clinical trials and educational missions.
• Utilizes advanced treatment planning techniques and methodologies.
• Communicates treatment plan implementation to the radiation oncology team.
• Prepares treatment plan documentation and transfers treatment fields.
• Active participation in clinical and didactic teaching.
• Serves as a resource for clinical trials and research.
• Accurate billing of patient codes per planning/procedures.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in physical or biological sciences.
• Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
• Strong knowledge of physics, math, dosimetry, and computer skills.
• Good communication skills, initiative, and team spirit.
