Overview

The Academic Medical Dosimetrist (AMD) reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

In Short

• Provides optimum, accurate, and meaningful treatment plans for radiation oncology patients.
• Coordinates with Radiation Oncologist, Medical Physicist, Nursing, and Therapists.
• Participates in clinical trials and educational missions.
• Utilizes treatment modalities such as 3DCRT, IMRT, VMAT, and HDR brachytherapy.
• Creates processes for better patient care.
• Understands imaging artifacts and anatomy for contouring.
• Expertise in treatment planning software like Eclipse & Radformation.
• Communicates treatment plan implementation effectively.
• Participates in clinical and didactic teaching.
• Accurate billing of patient codes per planning/procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in physical or biological sciences.
• Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
• Strong knowledge of physics, math, dosimetry, and computer skills.
• Good communication skills and team spirit.
