Overview

We are a venture-backed startup developing next-generation orchestration software for autonomous systems. Our platform enables the complex coordination of multi-domain robotic systems with applications in defense and commercial sectors.

We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale our technical team during a period of rapid growth. You'll oversee a diverse group of engineers and data scientists while collaborating with our product, design, and business teams to deliver innovative solutions in the autonomous systems space.

In Short

  • Lead and mentor a growing technical team of full stack engineers, data scientists, and autonomy specialists
  • Establish engineering processes, standards, and best practices that enable rapid innovation and high-quality delivery
  • Collaborate with product leadership to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and execution plans
  • Drive recruitment and team growth, tripling our technical staff over the next 6 months
  • Foster a collaborative culture that emphasizes technical excellence, learning, and cross-functional teamwork
  • Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and technical deliverables across multiple workstreams
  • Balance immediate product needs with long-term technical architecture and scalability
  • Implement effective development workflows, code reviews, and quality assurance practices
  • Guide the integration of Generative AI capabilities into our product suite
  • Serve as a bridge between technical implementation and business strategy

Requirements

  • This position requires the candidate to be a "U.S. Person" as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience, ideally in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in full stack development, AI/ML, or autonomous systems
  • Experience with modern software development practices and tools including CI/CD and Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with multiple programming languages (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++ preferred)
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and retain high-performing engineering teams
  • Experience managing remote or hybrid teams
  • Willingness to obtain a U.S. Security clearance
