Overview

The Sterile Processing Technician II plays a critical role in ensuring that all surgical instruments and linens are properly prepared, sterilized, and stocked in accordance with established standards at Mass General Brigham.

In Short

• Wraps and prepares items for sterilization.
• Inventories and stocks sterilized items in the hospital.
• Follows IAHCSMM and CBSPD standards.
• Utilizes computer systems for inventory control.
• Assists in training new staff and volunteers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• One year of Sterile Processing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of steam sterilization principles.
• Ability to perform physical tasks related to the job.
• Understanding of distribution systems used in the department.
• Willingness to participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Ability to work in a noisy and potentially unpleasant environment.
