Overview

This role involves supporting Netflix’s core datasets, delivering high-quality business metrics, and building systems to process batch and real-time data at a large scale.

In Short

• Work with the Playback pod within the Consumer Engineering Product Data Engineering team.
• Produce playback datasets that inform content decisions and member experience.
• Support analytics and develop metrics related to playback performance.
• Engineer scalable data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and data scientists.
• Maintain and improve existing data pipelines.
• Take ownership of operational excellence in your domain.
• Drive data quality and excellence to support business efforts.

Requirements

• Strong product ownership and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Mastery of at least one major programming language (Java, Scala, Python) and SQL.
• Experience with big data technologies like Spark and Flink.
• Solid understanding of distributed data processing.
• Familiarity with automation, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Excellent data intuition and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Comfortable in a rapidly changing environment with ambiguous requirements.
• Strong fundamentals in DevOps and operations.
• Passion for data quality and improving streaming data handling.
