Senior Backend Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

NetBox Labs is seeking a Backend Engineer to join our rapidly expanding engineering team. We have multiple openings at different seniority levels across several teams.

In Short

• Design, build, and maintain backend systems supporting NetBox Labs’ SaaS and on-premise products.
• Integrate deeply with NetBox’s data model to drive network automation workflows.
• Define and evolve APIs and data schemas shared across products and teams.
• Maintain and extend backend services that power the user interface and customer-facing experiences.
• Design performant and reliable distributed systems, ensuring correctness and data integrity.
• Collaborate with platform engineers for integration with authentication and billing services.
• Contribute to observability and monitoring across services.
• Profile and optimize database queries and API performance.
• Participate in system design reviews and architecture discussions.
• Implement automated testing and CI/CD pipelines for backend services.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Golang and Python.
• Strong understanding of gRPC, protobuf, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with Redis Streams, Kafka, and similar messaging systems.
• Familiarity with observability concepts and protocols like OpenTelemetry.
• Solid grasp of networking fundamentals.
• Strong communication skills for technical specifications.
• Familiarity with visualization frameworks like Grafana.
