Overview

Staff Software Engineer will focus on a new and exciting vertical supporting NerdWallet Mortgage Experts. This is a full-stack position responsible for driving and scaling innovative technology solutions.

In Short

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of core financial services platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Architect, build, and implement APIs and microservices.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineering team members.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and performance.
• Act as a subject matter expert in consumer credit, lending, loans, or insurance.
• Contribute to platform stability and resilience.
• Stay up-to-date with trends and technologies in the fintech industry.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8+ years in software engineering.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Deep experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Strong familiarity with Next.js for building full-stack applications.
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of security best practices in regulated industries.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and containerization.
