Overview

The Development Specialist plays a vital role in NBDF’s fundraising initiatives and donor engagement efforts, contributing to annual and episodic fundraising campaigns.

In Short

  • Collaborate with the Annual Giving Manager to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
  • Manage initiatives, campaigns, and events targeting key audiences.
  • Oversee peer-to-peer and endurance fundraising programs.
  • Steward a portfolio of entry-level donors and provide donor relations support.
  • Conduct donor research to enhance cultivation strategies.
  • Analyze fundraising performance metrics for strategy improvement.
  • Plan logistics for philanthropic events and support fundraising initiatives.
  • Requires adaptability, creativity, teamwork, and initiative.
  • Work remotely with occasional travel for events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a nonprofit organization or related field.
  • Experience with annual campaigns, direct mail, and peer-to-peer fundraising.
  • Proficiency in Raiser's Edge or similar CRM systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and sense of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of health-based fundraising is a plus.
  • Experience with graphic design tools preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely and travel as needed.
