This role involves building and maintaining a self-service internal development platform for MongoDB engineering teams, focusing on improving developer productivity through automation and education.

In Short

Work with engineering teams to understand infrastructure requirements.
Design self-service platform services and tooling.
Write and review automation and application code.
Own and operate the internal development platform.
Collaborate with remote engineers across multiple time zones.
Provide guidance to entry-mid level engineers.
Utilize open source tools and contribute upstream.
Focus on reliability and usability in platform design.
Measure and track service level indicators.
Drive platform adoption across the company.

Requirements

Experience with medium/large scale software projects, preferably in Go.
Familiarity with software engineering principles and test-driven development.
Strong Linux and TCP/IP networking skills.
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and configuration management tools.
Experience with CI/CD workflows and Kubernetes.
Understanding of observability concepts and tooling.
Ability to perform deep technical analysis and fix applications.
Experience with standard authentication protocols (e.g., OAuth).
Pragmatic and detail-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
Self-motivated and able to coach others.
