Group Legal Counsel - Remote

Overview

Modular Dating is looking for a Group Legal Counsel to manage legal operations focusing on compliance, contracts, and commercial growth in a fast-scaling startup environment.

In Short

• Be the first in-house legal hire, reporting to the COO.
• Manage contracts, compliance, and entity structuring.
• Engage with leadership across various departments.
• Oversee IP registration and enforcement.
• Support corporate governance and maintain records.
• Act as the Data Protection Officer (DPO).
• Lead compliance efforts across various regulations.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Build internal legal documentation and workflows.
• Shape and grow legal operations globally.

Requirements

• Maltese-warranted lawyer with 3+ years PQE.
• Strong knowledge of EU/US regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with commercial law, IP, and data protection.
• Experience as a DPO or leading GDPR strategy is preferred.
• Familiarity with adult, dating, or creator platforms is desirable.
• Skilled in contract drafting and negotiation.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
