Overview

You’ll be joining our Trakstar Perform team, working on a performance management system to help employers streamline the review process with a focus on employee engagement. We focus on delivering high quality (low escaped defects), well tested (Cypress automation framework with focus on unit test coverage), secure (scanned and verified), scalable (AWS, but hardware isn’t the answer), software that delivers exceptional experiences for our clients.

In Short

  • Build subject matter expertise on your team’s code base and platform.
  • Write clean, production-ready code that is easily understood and well tested.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to production issues.
  • Work in an agile development model and participate in sprint planning.
  • Write secure code and avoid introducing vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor and log alerts to ensure quality issues are addressed.
  • Help teammates resolve complex problems and design challenges.
  • Foster an excellent engineering culture based on trust and accountability.
  • Seek feedback and deliver constructive criticism in a tactful manner.
  • Remediate security risks found via penetration tests and scans.

Requirements

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering or computer science.
  • Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience with SaaS applications.
  • Proficiency with Ruby on Rails and React.
  • Knowledge of Git source control and versioning.
  • Experience with AWS systems (RDS, EC2, S3, etc.).
  • Experience with Agile SCRUM model.
  • Familiarity with code coverage and unit testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and secure sessions.
  • Advanced experience with database queries and SQL optimization.
  • Knowledge of caching systems (Redis, Memcache).
