Applied Researcher - Remote

Overview

Miris is seeking an exceptional and outcome-focused Applied Researcher to join our friendly and fully remote R&D team. You will navigate the fast moving Gaussian splatting / radiance field research to find and adapt existing techniques and identify where to push beyond the bleeding edge to deliver exceptional immersive streaming experiences to low-powered mobile devices.

In Short

• Conduct applied research into novel methods for representing, compressing, and streaming animated 3D content.
• Quickly develop proof-of-concepts and transition successful experiments to production-ready code.
• Design and evaluate algorithms for spatial data optimization and adaptive streaming.
• Contribute to solutions for animated content and real-time relighting.
• Collaborate with rendering engineers to define data formats and performance targets.
• Establish efficient workflows for automated processing of diverse user input data.
• Follow and apply the latest computer graphics research.
• Communicate research findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven track record in advancing the state-of-the-art in graphics.
• Strong understanding of modern 3D rendering pipelines.
• Experience with radiance fields and spatial representation techniques.
• Excellent programming skills in Python and C++.
• Experience with performance optimization for resource-constrained environments.
• Ability to understand and implement complex research papers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a startup environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
