Overview

The Credentialing Specialist works in partnership with the CVO Manager/Medical Staff Office Manager and Inland Northwest Region Director to assist in the organization and implementation of various projects and programs within the healthcare network.

In Short

  • Coordinates and performs all provider credentialing and re-credentialing services.
  • Analyzes provider contracts, applications, and other material for completeness.
  • Monitors credentialing documentation including current licensure and board certification.
  • Utilizes PECOS and CAQH credentialing database for efficiency.
  • Submits and retrieves National Practitioner Database reports.
  • Responds to inquiries from healthcare organizations on credentialing issues.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Requires high school diploma or GED; CPCS preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in provider credentialing.
  • Belongs to a mission-driven organization dedicated to community health.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience with provider credentialing and/or healthcare contracting.
  • Minimum three years in an administrative role.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using credentialing databases.
  • Commitment to the values of respect, integrity, and collaboration.
  • Understanding of healthcare quality improvement standards.
