Overview

The Outside Sales Manager leads a team of sales representatives who work in the field, meeting with customers and prospects to sell products or services. This role involves working with and training the local sales team to grow our local market share and supplier base in their region. The Outside Sales Manager also maintains relationships with key clients and works to expand the customer base.

In Short

  • Train and manage a team of outside sales representatives.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and development to the sales team.
  • Set individual and team sales targets and monitor performance.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement improvement plans if necessary.
  • Determine sales potential for new and existing customers.
  • Increase business and account base by finding and qualifying new business accounts.
  • Prepare and present quotations to clients.
  • Maintain and improve customer relationships and satisfaction.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required (bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Three years of experience in the Fire Service industry.
  • Experience in an outside sales/sales management role preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Field-based role with frequent travel.
