Governance Consultant - Remote

Overview

The Governance Consultant will work with the Sudan INGO Forum to revise governance documents, enhance coordination among NGOs, and establish decision-making protocols in response to the complex humanitarian crisis in Sudan.

• Revise the Terms of Reference for the Forum Steering Committee.
• Clarify host-agency participation within the Steering Committee.
• Establish membership roles and responsibilities.
• Implement Membership fees and sanctions for non-participation.
• Nuance decision-making protocols by type and area.
• Establish voting mechanisms for representation.
• Ensure members understand new governance documents.
• Review internal structure and provide recommendations.
• Engage with stakeholders for improved response conditions.
• Support the INGO Forum in addressing humanitarian needs.

Requirements

• A graduate degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of relevant experience with NGOs or UN systems.
• Experience in complex humanitarian contexts.
• Experience in humanitarian coordination platforms.
• Strong relationship building skills.
• High-level representation and negotiation experience.
• Ability to manage diverse workloads in fluid environments.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
