Billing Specialist - Remote

Overview

MedMan is seeking a dynamic Allscripts Super User driven to deliver excellent service through their own actions as well as their team. This role will be a working team lead who splits their time doing daily, weekly, and monthly revenue cycle tasks as well as providing support and oversight to a small team dedicated to Allscripts clients.

In Short

• Serve as the Allscripts expert resource for the billing team and clients, providing support and troubleshooting.
• Oversee Allscripts setup and onboarding of new clients, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
• Responsible for analyzing changes in the EMR, including new features, modifications, and potential improvements.
• Maintain point of contact for Allscripts clients.
• Daily & weekly billing functions including preparing, reviewing, and transmitting clinical charges.
• Balancing a daily input and accounts receivable system.
• Communicating with clinics on denied claims related to patient benefit eligibility.
• Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness.
• Researching and appealing denied claims.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality as per HIPAA.

Requirements

• Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Competent use of computer systems, software, and 10 key calculators.
• Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies.
• Excellent customer service skills for interacting with patients.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Two years’ experience in medical practice billing.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Veradigm/Allscripts experience required (2-3 years).
