Director of Application Engineering and Development - Remote

Overview

This is a full-time, remote position within the continental United States for a strategic engineering leader who thrives at the intersection of cloud platforms, agile delivery, and enterprise application ownership.

In Short

• Lead and mentor high-performing application engineering and QA teams.
• Define and execute application engineering strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Own the full lifecycle of applications built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Azure.
• Drive agile program execution using Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture, integration, APIs, and DevOps practices.
• Ensure application platforms are AI-ready and aligned with Microsoft’s AI strategy.
• Establish engineering standards, delivery governance, and performance metrics.
• Communicate status, risks, and dependencies to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development and application engineering.
• 5+ years leading development teams.
• Proven expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience managing distributed and offshore teams.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with Azure data concepts and data visualization.
• A strategic, player-coach leadership style.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
