Substation SCADA Electrical Engineer - Remote

Overview

Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Substation SCADA Electrical Engineer working in the Automation, Integration, and System Protection (AISP) Department. The Substation SCADA Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, installing, and testing automation systems that bring together multiple sub-systems to meet the operational and regulatory needs of the owner.

In Short

• Create SCADA point lists, RTU programs, HMIs, and metering calculations.
• Program, install, troubleshoot, test, and commission RTUs, PACs, and HMIs.
• Develop design packages for site network and communication architectures.
• Establish and maintain schedules and provide project status updates.
• Coach and mentor less experienced staff.
• Maintain positive client relationships with frequent interaction.
• Complete tasks and projects within allocated time.
• Work with various technologies like SEL-RTAC and WonderWare.
• Demonstrate proficiency in communication protocols and network architectures.
• Prepare reports and correspondence for assigned projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus).
• Network design experience and IT certifications are a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to apply standard engineering techniques and criteria.
• Experience in detailed engineering design and evaluations.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction.
• Must have authorization to work permanently in Costa Rica.
