Lead Substation Electrical Engineer - Remote

Overview

Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Lead Substation Electrical Engineer to support Renewables/Utility/Power projects. The Lead Electrical Engineer acts as a technical leader and applies standard engineering techniques and procedures on complex projects. Plans, schedules, conducts and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.

In Short

• Makes design recommendations, adaptations and modifications for utility substations and drawings associated.
• Performs calculations using engineering formulas and skills.
• Provide technical guidance to other engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. Master’s degree is a plus.
• CFIA professional licensure or PE registration, or ability to obtain within 6-12 months of hire, required.
• 7+ years of engineering experience required.
• Effective leadership and mentoring skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications, time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Capable of leading complex substation projects with a multidiscipline team.
• Proficient with substation physical design and industry.
• Capable of reviewing and producing design drawings.
• Knowledge of substation electrical physical equipment.
• Knowledge of basic relay settings a plus.
• Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, NESC, RUS design guide and NEC a plus.
• Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications.
• Up to 15% travel across North and South America required.
