Electrical Substation Engineer - Remote

Overview

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Substation Engineer to support our growing Energy Business Line, offering the flexibility to work remotely or at various Energy offices across the United States.

In Short

• Join AECOM's team to work on impactful infrastructure projects.
• Support electrical engineering design for substations and power systems.
• Mentor junior engineers within the Power group.
• Conduct power system studies and develop construction specifications.
• Assist in the design of HV and MV substations.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on project schedules and budgets.
• Participate in field walks and create necessary sketches.
• Occasional travel to client sites may be required.
• Work on detailed engineering assignments and calculations.
• Propose solutions to engineering challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
• Professional engineering licensure preferred.
• Strong familiarity with industry codes and standards.
• Experience with California Electric Utilities is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in full EPC projects from start to finish.
• Power systems analysis software experience (SKM, EasyPower, ETAP).
• Exposure to renewable generation projects.
• Ability to work with remote teams.
