Overview

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Substation Engineer to support our growing Energy Business Line, offering freedom and flexibility to work remotely or from various Energy offices across the United States.

In Short

  • Join AECOM's global team to deliver impactful infrastructure projects.
  • Support electrical engineering design work on assigned projects.
  • Engage in the design of substations and power distribution systems.
  • Work on projects involving renewable energy and next-generation energy solutions.
  • Provide mentorship to junior electrical engineers.
  • Participate in field walks and gather engineering data.
  • Develop construction specifications and electrical design documents.
  • Conduct power system studies and calculations.
  • Support projects during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Collaborate with senior staff and other disciplines to achieve project goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 4+ years of relevant substation experience.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
  • Professional engineering licensure preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with industry codes and standards.
  • Experience with California Electric Utilities and brownfield projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with power systems analysis software.
  • Ability to work effectively with remote teams.
  • Startup and commissioning field experience is a plus.
