Software Development Engineer II (Full-stack Engineer) - Remote

In Short

• Drive the design, development, and testing of Mapbox tools and services.
• Solve complex workflow problems and implement enhancements in frontend and backend services.
• Establish operational metrics for service performance.
• Maintain documentation for services.
• Collaborate with in-house editors to understand workflows and gather feedback.
• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and modern frontend frameworks like React.
• Experience with server-side development in Node.js.
• Experience with cloud services and associated technologies.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles.

Requirements

• Good understanding of client-side state management and asynchronous tasks.
• Understanding of REST architecture and common software design patterns.
• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest/RTL/Cypress).
• Familiarity with modern engineering best practices.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Experience with TypeScript is a plus.
• Experience with project management tools like Jira is preferred.
• Experience with GeoJSON and OSM tools ecosystem is a plus.
