Mortgage Customer Outreach Specialist I - Remote

Overview

This position is responsible for collecting on delinquent mortgage loans by calling borrowers who are in early stages of default (60 or less days delinquent).

In Short

• Initiate contact with consumers in early stages of mortgage loan default.
• Collect past due payments while maintaining compliance with laws.
• Assess consumer’s ability to repay delinquency and identify solutions.
• Handle inbound calls related to mortgage loan products.
• Communicate state-specific compliance requirements.
• Investigate suspect situations such as fraud.
• Resolve problematic account situations when appropriate.
• Maintain internal control standards.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A combined 2 years’ higher education and/or relevant work experience.
• Effective and professional communication skills over the phone.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Collections experience preferred.
• Knowledge of M&T systems preferred.
