Loss Mitigation Liaison I - Remote

Overview

This position is responsible for acting as the Single Point of Contact (“SPOC”) throughout the loss mitigation process, from package collection through decision and closing, as well as through the foreclosure process.

In Short

• Act as the SPOC for mortgage loan borrowers.
• Make inbound and outbound calls to delinquent borrowers.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal laws.
• Answer consumer questions and document contacts.
• Understand investor’s requirements for loss mitigation.
• Assist borrowers in reviewing loss mitigation documents.
• Communicate terms of loss mitigation approvals or declines.
• Explain foreclosure process and liquidation options.
• Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls.
• Promote a supportive environment reflecting M&T Bank's brand.

Requirements

• 4 years of higher education and/or work experience.
• Minimum of 1 year collections or customer service experience.
• Effective and professional communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Mortgage collections experience preferred.
• Knowledge of M&T systems preferred.
