Bankruptcy Specialist I - Remote

Overview

This position is an integral role within M&T’s Mortgage Bankruptcy team that will assist in execution of day to day functions including the activation of the bankruptcy workstation, identification and distribution of mail, document imaging and calculation and preparation of quotes.

In Short

• Set up the bankruptcy workstation and assign attorneys to specialists.
• Document reaffirmation agreements.
• Monitor the bankruptcy mailbox and respond to inquiries.
• Document motions for relief and send to Attorney's Firms.
• Obtain missing documents and coordinate with other departments.
• Calculate payoff and reinstatement quotes.
• Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls.
• Maintain internal control standards.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2 years of higher education and/or relevant work experience.
• Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented and motivated team player.
• Understanding of collections servicing systems.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of M&T Bank systems preferred.
