Bankruptcy Specialist II - Remote

Overview

This position is an integral role within M&T’s Mortgage Bankruptcy team that will execute day to day functions including the monitoring of an assigned bankruptcy portfolio to ensure all appropriate actions are being taken timely.

• Monitor bankruptcy portfolio and ensure timely actions are taken.
• Conduct audits on loans in bankruptcy status.
• Liaise between M&T's bankruptcy counsel and internal departments.
• Research loan audits, payment status, and clarify disputes.
• Ensure payment plans are monitored to prevent defaults.
• Prepare and respond to court documents related to bankruptcy cases.
• Maintain compliance with operational risk controls and internal standards.
• Handle incoming customer calls and process payments.
• Reconcile Corporate Advance systems and monitor correspondence.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A combined 3 years’ experience or higher education, including 1 year in Mortgage Default/Banruptcy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with a positive attitude.
• Understanding of collections servicing systems.
• Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
