Overview

The Senior Supervising Social Worker will oversee and support foster parents, conduct assessments, and work directly with children to promote stability and positive outcomes in fostering.

• Supervise and support foster parents, including induction and TSDS portfolio completion.
• Conduct Form F assessments and regular support visits.
• Facilitate monthly reflective sessions to enhance carers’ understanding of child development.
• Work directly with children to promote stability and positive outcomes.
• Identify training needs and develop Personal Development Plans (PDPs).
• Conduct unannounced visits, health & safety checks, and risk assessments.
• Present Annual Reviews to the Faith Fostering Panel.
• Prepare reports for LAC reviews and placement stability meetings.
• Respond to referrals, match placements, and liaise with local authorities.
• Participate in recruitment campaigns and assess foster carers’ ongoing suitability.

Requirements

• A degree in Social Work (Bachelor’s or Master’s).
• Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience (preferred).
• Strong communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
• Knowledge of systemic and social learning theories.
• Proficiency in digital record-keeping and documentation.
