Underwriter, Fronting - Remote

Overview

Liberty is seeking an Underwriter to join our Alternative Risk Solutions & Programs team. The primary focus of this role will be underwriting, servicing, and growing an assigned portfolio of business focused primarily on Fronting (Captive & Self-Insured Retention).

In Short

• Responsible for the production and underwriting of an assigned book of new and renewal business.
• Work closely with team members and management across Canada.
• Maintain and expand broker and client relationships.
• Provide superior customer service and prioritize workload effectively.
• Recommend and execute innovative concepts for efficiency improvements.
• Manage internal and external meetings with professionalism.
• Continuous learning through industry events and relevant seminars.
• Ensure proper organization and documentation of underwriting files.
• Maintain financial analysis of portfolio for actuals compared to plan.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Fronting and/or Underwriting Property & Casualty lines.
• Financial acumen and ability to review financial statements.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Highly effective communication skills.
• Strong negotiation skills and decision-making ability.
• Self-starter with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work through complex issues to meet deadlines.
• Comfortable with critical thinking and a growth mindset.
• Relevant insurance designations/education is an asset.
