Head of Engineering - Remote

Overview

As Head of Engineering, you will take responsibility for our development teams in the Technology & Data business unit. In this role, you connect technical understanding with entrepreneurial thinking: you develop our development teams and employees, design efficient processes, ensure the technical vision, and ensure the implementation of strategic goals. You will act as an interface between management, tech leads, and other company areas, aiming to make our products, systems, and teams sustainably successful.

In Short

• Overall responsibility for our development teams with currently about 60 employees
• Leadership, coaching, and development of tech leads and their teams
• Definition of the technical direction and standards for the company in close collaboration with our tech leads
• Support tech leads with administrative and organizational tasks
• Responsibility for recruiting & onboarding new talents
• Accompany and organize employee discussions and development plans
• Support team development and culture promotion measures
• Resource planning and project allocation in close coordination with tech leads and project managers
• Optimization of processes around teamwork and collaboration
• Ensuring quality and reliability
• Budget planning and control for personnel and development measures
• Reporting & monitoring relevant key figures in project controlling and business areas (e.g., resource utilization, budget deviations, forecasts)
• Close collaboration and interface between management, tech leads, HR, and sales/project management

Requirements

• Several years of leadership experience in a comparable role
• Solid understanding of software development and project work
• Strong competence in employee leadership, team development, and coaching
• Experience in recruiting, HR processes, and organizational team management
• Proficient in budget planning, controlling, and reporting
• Strong communication skills and interface strength towards management, HR, sales, and other stakeholders
• Hands-on mentality, strategic foresight, and enjoyment of organizational and process development
