Database Administrator - Remote

Overview

As a fully remote company, Kraken is looking for a Database Administrator to join our experienced team and help scale and optimize our database solutions in a high-load environment.

In Short

• Scale and optimize a distributed high-load MariaDB cluster.
• Enhance high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Troubleshoot performance and availability issues.
• Manage database security and upgrades.
• Implement automation and CI/CD workflows.

• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of MariaDB/MySQL with 5+ years of experience.
• Familiarity with database proxies for high availability.
• Strong programming skills in Bash, Python, or Go.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of database security and compliance best practices.
• Strong communication and team-oriented mindset.
