Senior Attorney, Legal Training - Remote

Overview

The Senior Attorney, Legal Training will develop and deliver training and technical assistance for legal professionals working with unaccompanied children, ensuring a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach.

• Provide legal technical assistance to legal professionals.
• Draft legal practice guides and training materials.
• Train legal professionals on various immigration topics.
• Monitor legal developments affecting unaccompanied children.
• Collaborate with psychosocial training staff.
• Present legal trainings in various formats.
• Collect data to support monitoring and evaluation.
• Edit training materials for clarity and compliance.
• Represent KIND at conferences and public speaking events.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• J.D. and admission to local state bar.
• 5+ years of experience in immigration law.
• 3+ years working with children, especially immigrant and refugee children.
• Expertise in humanitarian immigration claims.
• Knowledge of the domestic child welfare system.
• Experience in formulating and presenting trainings.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
