Senior Data Engineer - Remote

Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer at Kin, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of Kin’s data assets. You’ll be responsible for building out a data lakehouse for enterprise reporting, which will involve the design and development of production-ready data pipelines, modeling raw data for downstream reporting, and quality assurance of the data warehouse.

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and models for downstream analytics and reporting.

• Optimize pipeline performance, cost, and data quality in a large-scale data environment.
• Migrate data warehouse architecture to Lakehouse architecture.
• Mentor data engineers and promote best practices in software engineering.
• Ensure data security and compliance with regulations through robust pipeline design.
• Translate ambiguous business requirements into technical solutions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
• Proficiency in data structures and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Experience with ETL performance tuning and cost optimization.
• Knowledge of data lake and lakehouse patterns.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing.
• Expertise in distributed data processing/storage.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong data intuition.
• Proven ability to model data and build production-ready ETL pipelines.
