Overview

The Field Quality Engineer Specialist will oversee and ensure quality assurance processes across various aspects of aerospace products, focusing on compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.

In Short

  • Oversee quality assurance processes including First Article Inspection Requirements (FAIR).
  • Conduct gap analyses and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present metrics related to quality trends and improvements.
  • Conduct supplier audits and manage continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Local travel required to perform mechanical inspections.
  • Evaluate supplier quality systems and conduct audits.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50-75% for local and regional needs.
  • Experience in aerospace electronics is preferred.
  • Certified Green Belt or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing/assembly operations, quality engineering, or materials/procurement.
  • Experience with QA systems such as AS9100, ISO.
  • Proven track record in supplier oversight.
  • Subject matter expert in GD&T.
  • Ability to interact with supplier management.
  • Experience in leading teams focused on problem-solving.
  • Knowledge in commodities such as sheet metal, machining, and electronics.
  • Certification/training in IPC610/620 is a plus.
  • Must be a US citizen due to client contracts.
