Overview

Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal to dramatically improve people’s quality of life while protecting the environment. This goal will be accomplished through the commercialization of the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor (FHR) that can be deployed with robust safety, affordable costs, and flexible operation to accommodate the expansion of variable renewables.

In Short

• Develop 2D drawings and 3D models of equipment and piping systems.
• Generate detailed general arrangement drawings using CAD software.
• Collaborate with project leadership and engineers for timely delivery.
• Prepare procurement and construction packages including 3D models.
• Identify potential problems and develop cost-effective solutions.
• Support preparation of reports such as line lists and valve schedules.
• Communicate design concepts with technicians and engineers.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
• Maintain cross-functional working relationships.
• Participate in the design of high-temperature fluid systems.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in designing process plants.
• Knowledge of codes and standards such as ANSI and ASME.
• Proficiency in AVEVA, PDMS, or equivalent.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in the nuclear industry is a plus.
• Ability to adjust workload based on changing priorities.
